Junior Wardens Day 2010
Willow Park and Riverside Housing
Association invite you to
JUNIOR WARDENS DAY 2010
(Co-sponsored by the Northwest Wardens
Executive.)
What are Junior Wardens?
Junior Wardens Schemes have really developed in the last five years. Normally run by Neighbourhood Wardens Schemes attached to councils or housing associations, they are fun, educational and extremely rewarding for all involved.
The schemes are normally targeted at local children between the ages of 8 and 12. The general concept is that children and young people are encouraged to take pride in their local area and help their schools and communities through a variety of activities.
Activities include for example, clean up events, spending time with older residents, learning about the emergency services, helping raise money for local charities, representing their organisations at local events, and attending consultation events and resident conferences. They are then rewarded for their hard work with fun activities such as sports days and trips out.
Why organise a Junior Wardens Day 2010?
It's a chance to:
- Say thank you to all the children and adults involved in the
schemes across the Northwest for all their hard work.
- Showcase the brilliant activities the schemes have been doing.
- Share experiences and ideas between schemes.
- Offer support and advice to any organisation looking to set up
or develop their own scheme.
Why you should join us. - A chance to network with other organisations and schemes.
- A chance to learn about the benefits of having a Junior Wardens
Schemes and draw on others' knowledge and experience.
- A chance to show your support for the children involved in the schemes.
