Celebrating Success!
The course has made a real difference to people's confidence. One Learner told us, "This course has made a real difference to my life. I used to sit at the back in meetings, angry, and not saying anything but after the course, I attended a meeting and was able to put my point across constructively." This is just one of the many fantastic comments received in our feedback.
Making a real difference to people means that they can make a real difference in their communities! To celebrate their success, some of the participants who've taken up this great learning opportunity, have hosted presentation ceremonies to allow everyone involved to feel really proud!
Rochdale's Lower Falinge were first to celebrate and those committed to improving their neighbourhoods were honoured by the Mayor and Mayoress. Dave Broome, Rochdale's Lead Officer for Lower Fallinge In Focus initiative, spoke at the ceremony saying, "Seeing the pride and genuine support for the people gaining the cerfiticates was a real honour to witness. The skills gained, and the relationships built between staff and the community, will be strong foundations for the future in Lower Falinge."
St Helen's were next to give successful particpants from their course the recognition they deserved with presentations being given by the Mayor. In attentance to support and celebrate their achievements on the day was Lynn Clarke, Neighbourhoood Initiatives Manager, our Trainer, Scott Merrifield and our Training and Development Officer, Liz Boylan.
John Chapman, Learning and Development Co-ordinator for Salford NDC, chose to celebrate his staff and residents' success by having certificates formally presented at their Annual WOW awards ceremony with guest speaker MP Hazel Blears and colleagues from Neighbourhoods-NW.
Burnley Borough Council held their presentation ceremony at Burnley Town Hall to show participants from the course how proud they were of their achievements!
