North West Big Society Conference
North West Employers would like to invite you to the North West
Big Society Conference. The event will explore the opportunities
that this new policy initiative holds for the local government
sector and it will examine how officers, councillors and their
local communities can work together in order to build capacity and
make the most of the Government's commitment to devolve power
to the local level.
We are currently in the process of finalising the event and the
full programme will follow shortly.
The conference will be hosted at a local authority venue in the North West and we would like to invite you to save Tuesday 2nd November as a date for your diary. We are pleased to be joined by Kevin Douglas, the Chief Executive of Eden Council, one of the North West Big Society pilots launched by David Cameron. In addition we will be joined by Sarah Longlands, Director of Policy at the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES). There will also be workshops focusing on community volunteering and public service mutuals.
If you would like to reserve a place then please email
events@nwemployers.org.uk and ensure you are
the first to receive a full copy of the programme.
